WHEN WAITING AT A RANK, a taxi cannot refuse to take you, except if you wish travel outside of the Parisian Taxi zone of operation.

You have the right to choose your taxi on the rank, except if it is a railway stations, airport or if the station is channeled. But it's customary to take the first taxi in the rank.

When it is available for hire, a taxi driver can refuse to take you if he is in his last half-hour of service.

THE OPERATING ZONE OF PARISIAN TAXI consists of Paris and 183 suburbs, but in 43 of these suburbs, because there are local taxi services, we are prohibited from picking up passengers, unless the taxis are pre-booked. Local taxis in this suburbs, also called Suburban Taxis, have exclusive rights to pick up passengers from the street in these areas.
